Elda, Austra, Elana - Those are a few names I came up with. I'm not sure, but she reminds me a bit of Astrid from httyd and Princess Mononoke combined. Super cool design! She's pretty in a rugged way. Maybe look into old vikingish names?

Oh wow! Thank you so much. : D I honestly don't know what else to say but practice, time, research and application, in a summarized context.

In terms of this painting itself, it's a sketch painting, but I just try to mind the edges, making sure it's not too soft, or not too hard. I'm also lessening the use of airbrush, and more on the basic brushes, like a regular traditional round brush!

I could go on with tips I learned throughout being an artist, but for starters, you should check out muddycolors.blogspot.com. It's a blog comprised of professional artists who have been in the field for many years. They give so much insight and tips on how to paint right. One example: muddycolors.blogspot.com/2015/…

Thank you for all the tips! Really good advice is always appreciated! I've known about muddy colors, just need to push myself to read the articles (my attention span can be very short). Also signed up for Bobby Chiu's kickstarter and got a class for lighting fundamentals, so I'm hoping that will help as well!
