I used to have the sweetest little cockatiel when I was a child. He was called Smokey and he used to talk and sing to me. His previous owners were abusive and had cut off his nails so far they'd removed part of his toes, and also clipped his wings so far back he could never fly. Once he was rescued he really came out of his shell. I really miss him, he used to snuggle into my shoulders and hair.Related content

So cute! especially the rosy cheeks. Sounds like Smokey was a great pal and it's good that you have so many memories of him and of being with him. Your family gave him a better life, and he knew that and appreciated your companionship. These little darlings are with us only briefly, but they sure do pack a lot of snuggling, singing, brattiness and anctics into that short while, don't they?
