Finally able to finish this!I started this in July I think? So 4 months. Did it on and off, but it's been a really long while.
I watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and it's an amazing movie! The animation and story is just spectacular. I totally recommend it to those who haven't seen c:
I thought about completing this painting in October since it was Halloween and all, but with huge loads of school deadlines, it wasn't really possible.
Oh, and I initially tried including the talking face on his left hand, but it didn't go very well with the rest of the composition so ended up leaving it out. Next time tho~
Everything about this was a challenge, but it might be one of my fave works I've done so far...probably cause I'm kinda attached to it now due to working on it for so long ahah

So I didn't get to comment on this yet. I really loved the Vampire D movie back thenalthough the part where the vampires flew to space was a bit awkward, indicating that they are aliens which kind of goes against folklorewich was saying that vampires are partially undead , but I loved the animation alot. You captured the character perfectly in your style, love the textures and brushes on the smoker especially! aHHHHHHHH! <3
You should definitely do another version of this with more details, take the challenge!

HAHAH xD I believe the concept behind the part where they took off to space is cause they wanted to escape the prejudice on Earth, since the world sees a vampire x human relationship as taboo. It was a chance for them to finally break free from the cruelty of society. I actually really liked that part, it made me cry ;u;

I want to do another drawing of VHD for sure! I was actually contemplating whether or not to add more details to this one, but in the end I decided to just leave it as it is. I think a dynamic pose would probably be more fitting to incorporate more details on
But overall I'm happy with this piece, definitely a fave I did in 2016

Pretty sure there are alien races involved in that movie but maybe it's just surrealism and those are actually demons and undead XD I don't remember the movie well, I saw it a long time ago when I started anime.
I meant awkward in a good way, I actually liked that part to but one of my friends that is a classical vampire fan didn't. Well he thinks that vampires and space don't mix. I kinda find the idea a bit funny in a way but I loved the romantic element behind it <3. Everywhere there are people or places there will be prejudice, space is a nice place to escape to for any couple in love :3
