Dan locked his phone after sending his tweet, and sighed to himself as he lay back on his bed and stared up at the ceiling.

He hated being alone in the apartment, as much as he hated being away from Phil.

Dan had resorted to sleeping in Phil's room on a few nights. Dan knew this sounded weird to admit aloud, but to him it meant he could feel somewhat closer to the older male, even though they were so far in distance. Phil had only been gone for a few days, but those few days felt like months to Dan.

The pair had made sure to contact each other every day, whether it was through skype, twitter, or facebook. They definitely made sure to video call every night, or morning depending on what time it was over in Florida. Even though Dan could see how Phil was enjoying being on holiday with his family, and was happy that he was having a good time, he wanted nothing more than to have Phil back home.

Dan had not been completely alone in the apartment, as Chris and PJ had made visits to hang out with him. Dan was always more than happy to see them, appreciating their company and welcoming them in with a smile and a hug as he usually would if Phil was there too. The other two males could see how much Dan missed Phil, and told him that it was only a few days until he would be back. Dan felt like a lost puppy.

Phil missed Dan too, even though he was loving being with his family and the activities he would get up to with them, such as consuming his body weight in IHOP food; he couldn't complain about that. Although despite all that, Phil missed his boyfriend. Phoning each other wasn't really an option for the pair, as it was expensive to call overseas, so they both relied on the internet. Thankfully, Phil had decent internet access where he was staying so he was able to talk to Dan. This happened more in the evening when Phil and his family would be settling down after a day of being out exploring in the warm sun. Phil would go in to his bedroom and start a Skype call with Dan, who would answer in no time. Dan's face would immediately light up at Phil's face on his laptop screen. There they would skype until they were too tired and delirious to talk anymore. They would say their goodbyes and "I love you"s, before ending the call and falling asleep, usually with little smiles on their faces.

So when it was the day Phil was coming home, Dan could barely contain his excitement. Dan was finally going to be back with his lover; something he had been waiting to happen for about two weeks now, which felt more like two years to Dan. Phil was due to arrive early in the morning, and Dan was determined to stay up and wait for him to come home so they could be reunited.

Dan was lying awake on the sofa watching some programme on the TV, and trying to keep his concentration on the screen and whatever was happening on the show that was on. Dan was drifting in and out of sleep, even though he desperately wanted to stay up for Phil. He know the other male was going to be walking through their front door any minute now.

Unfortunately for Dan, his determination had faltered and his eyes slowly fell shut again, and he was immediately fast asleep in moments. To Dan it hadn't felt like long, and when he opened his eyes he realised he was being carried in a pair of strong arms, instantly recognising the familiar scent of Phil.

Phil.

Dan stared up at the male, a smile forming on his sleepy face. He was feeling too tired to show his actual excitement and enthusiasm, but Phil didn't mind and was just glad to be back with him. Phil smiled fondly back at Dan, before carefully laying Dan down on his bed, quickly getting in beside him afterwards.

"I missed you, Phil," Dan whispered as he cuddled close to Phil, nuzzling his head into the crook of Phil's neck, placing a chaste kiss there.

"I missed you too, Dan," Phil replied quietly, as he wrapped his arms around Dan's waist and kissed his forehead.

Dan smiled to himself as he soon fell back to sleep, only just hearing a small "I love you." being whispered from his boyfriend.
