Description So, as I mentioned in my Journal, the ship I started building to go to Jool was WAY too big with too many parts and it lagged out my laptop badly.  However the "crew" section was already up with several Kerbals already onboard, and since I've decided to leave it up as just a space station and go a less complex route to Jool, I needed to bring several of those Kerbals back.  So, here is Rescue 1 with 8 Kerbals sitting in external seats riding their way back down to Kerbin.  I actually had to reload this a few times as the chutes opening tore the bottom of the ship off dropping my Kerbals to their deaths.  8)

Must be traumatic re-entering the atmosphere on one of those chairs.

Personally, I'd pay real money to do that in real life.  They've already named it Space Jumping, and with things like Virgin Galactic, there are already guys trying to design suits so they can jump out above 100 km up and free-fall back to the ground.

As for the "heat shield" that hgfggg points out, I'm not running Deadly Reenty so even if it wasnt' there nothing would happen.  I put it there purely to make it look cool.

I still wouldn't want to fall through the atmosphere. that's just me though.

Considering the fact that there is a bigass heatshield...
