This is what I doodle sometimes
Something different from my usual, just a Batman sketch I decided to colour and go to town with textures and such. Kind of a reaction to this 'Batman Incorporated' thing which seems like a terrible idea, both for the fans and the characters in the stories
That is, Batman works on his own, with a supporting cast of Robin,Nightwing etc, not Bruce Wayne announcing he will fund a worldwide army of Batmen. He is a mystery, not a celebrity
I am very curious to hear comments on this on, btw

Thank you, I'm not keen on all this panels and body armour style costumes, especially on Batman. Just give him a big cape and long ears and gauntlet spikes

He is slowly becoming more and more comericalised, especially with the whole new 'its cool to buy and wear superhero stuff' thing going on lately. It takes a lot of what a superhero or comicbook character is. Especially for the fans, like myself am finding this a concern D: One thing is poor Green Lantern, has been a secret DC favourite of mine and I fear it may be ruined with the new filmage

That Green Lantern trailer is unconvincing for me; I don't see it winning any new fans, your secret fav is safe

we had a look at the trailer in film studies, i think the casting is a bit wrong :/ i just have problems with them killing it lol but your right on that front

man, I think the exactly same that you! I mean, he made the phrase "I work alone" mean something! he did in thta way for all those years because his work wasn't something that he would want the someone suffer ever! but now! what is now? we look Batman and we see robins, batmans, batwoman, nightwing! where is the awesome an lonely dark night that we remember?

This is awesome,the textures make it look like a watercolour
I also like the muted colours and dark tones,it suits batman very well,as does the pose.
The background is great too -such simple shapes but it still looks like an entire city
I think 'Batman Incorporated' is a terrible idea,but i did see this awesome contest of 'memos from batman inc' [link]

I drew this after reading the comic where Batman inc. was announced. I think the less people who know about/work with Batman, the better.

i've grown to love you and you're art. haha. i've always been quite amused with batman for his whole feeling and presence is more villianous than heroic, this really captures a dark element which is, batman.

Exactly, and this new direction seems to be making Batman more 'mainstream', whereas I prefer him hiding in the shadows and on rooftops etc

Totally love this picture! The sketchiness makes it look like it should be concept art for something! The textures give it a nice depth

Doesn't it sound terrible? I usually have great faith in Grant Morrison, but this is all his idea
