Finished 12th overall! Happy with that, given that he's not been shown that much in the past.

The sun was only just in the sky by the time Liz directed Eddie into the arena, watched by hundreds in the audience and millions at home watching them on their televisions. Liz scratched Eddie's neck with a finger, forcing herself to relax.

Eddie watched the crowd with excited eyes, taking all the sights and sounds and smells of the crowd. He flicked his tail, happy to be at the centre of all the attention. He saw the jumps and snorted - he could handle them. A small hill caught his attention but he turned away. He'd figure that one out when he came to it.

As the bell sounded, the crowd fell silent and Liz nudged Eddie into a canter, then steered him towards the first jump, as the spotlights found them and followed them round, illuminating their progress.

They soon came to the hill, and Eddie bounded up the slope and sailed over the relatively small jump compared to the rest on the course. He hesitated for a split second at the steep slope on the other side, then edged his way down out, rather slowly. Liz gave him a nudge, and the startled stallion launched himself forwards, straight off the slope. Liz squeaked in fright, then barely had time to collect herself and steer Eddie right before he veered completely off-course.

The next jump was the water tray. Liz felt her horse hesitate when he saw the distance, but she urged him on, and the stallion thundered towards it, then threw himself forwards and over the jump. Liz pressed herself flat make them more aerodynamic, then flashed a smile at the cameraman positioned by the jump.

When she saw the resulting photo later, she'd had to laugh. Eddie's bottom lip had flapped back to make it look like the pair of them were grinning at the camera. She immediately requested a print-out, and pinned in by his stable when they got home.

Words cannot describe how very proud I am of this picture.

This took so many hours. About 20 overall I think, probably more. Mainly the shading caused me ridiculous problems. XD
