Description Just a relatively quick piece of fanart. Seen 5 Deadly Venoms recently. Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the coolest of them all...

I admit it - Snake is my fave and Wei Pai is one of my many guilty pleasures, I suppose.

...poor Wei Pai. Doesn't look much like himself. But what the hell...

I'll probably move this to scraps some time soon.

EDIT: Uploaded a "touched up", cropped version of the previous scan. The first one sucked. This one sucks, too, but not *that* much... Wei Pai still doesn't look much like himself.

Number 5 The Toad was my favorite out of all of them. If it wasn't for The Scorpion he would have been unstoppable.

Toad was totally badass and an extremely likeable guy (my 2nd fave, by the way). But - y'know - Snake does the "character development" trick and looks gorgeous in white silk... Thanks for the comment...

This is a cool drawing of a great film! I like the way you done the detail and shading! I think it does look like him. The first thing I recognised was his eyes and you captured that well!
I would recommend The Cheeky Chap as one of Wei Pei's best films!

The rift between them is something that a lot of fans want to see ended. According to an interview I saw with Ti Lung, HE said the media blew it out of proportion and that he has no hard feeling toward David Chisng. He even considered Chiang one of his "teachers." In 1989 they were both in some of the same scenes in the film "Just Heroes."

Another film you may want to check out (if you have not yet seen it) is "Last Hurrah for Chivalry." It is not Shaw Bros., it is a Golden Harvest Studio release and stars Wei Pai. He really kicks ass in it. He is even better than he was in 5 Venoms. Well, in my opinion anyway... You can see s clip of it at YouTube.com:

Yeah, "Last Hurrah for Chivalry" already is on my "must-see/must-have" list (and that clip is one of my youtube faves). According to what I've read and heard and seen - it's many things I like in one pack (Wei Pai, John Woo, wuxia elements, homosocial bonding, you name it)... Gotta get that one.

As for the Ti Lung interview - I think maybe I saw that one too...
Well, only the two of them know the whole truth, I suppose...

There is a scene in "Deadly Duo" where Ti Lung's character and another give each other this "look" in the morning when they all wake up... it make's one wonder, LOL! Oh, and "Clans of Intrigue" (another wuxia genre film)... I think you would get a kick out of that one too. I guess you can tell who my all time favourite actor is, LOL! I am also a Chang Cheh film collector.

I can understand why you like Ti Lung so much... The two films that I've seen so far were enough to turn me into a fan... Ah, recalling some of the scenes from New One-Armed Swordsman - it's really sad to hear that Ti Lung and D. Chiang do not have the best of relationships these days...

Wei Pai is gorgeous and so is your drawing of him!

If you like Venoms films, you will probably like films starring Ti Lung as well. Beautiful man, beautiful fight scenes with Kung Fu and often sword play too.

I know I totally adored "New One-Armed Swordsman". David Chiang and Ti Lung had this wonderful chemistry that made some scenes look almost gay and I *loved* it...
And Ti Lung's final fight was superb - as was the grand finale on the bridge. I am definitely going to get more of those movies with D. Chiang and Ti Lung... In fact--I believe I won't sleep well until I have most of Chang Cheh's films.
