Little stress relief doodle that I absolutely did not have time for.
The other day a weird wave of Yu Yu Hakusho nostalgia spontaneously punched me right square in the childhood, and this was the result. Yu Yu Hakusho was seriously my favorite thing ever as a teenager, you have no idea... Kurama was my first animu crush too. 
I also just made myself realize that it's been 10 years since I first discovered YYH--GOOD LORD WHAT HAVE I EVEN BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE?! D: Ugh, I think a re-watch is in order.... Will probably scrap later. Go ahead and slap Kurama in the pile of characters I can't really draw in my style anymore. I used to draw him 24/7 when I was younger. xDYu Yu Hakusho © Yoshihiro Togashi

How did you get that effect? Or is that a secret?

Pretty easily, actually. All I did was turn on the paper texture up to 100% on SAI's brush tool. It makes a pretty decent colored pencil effect.

Ah, that's a shame. I'm sure there are custom brushes in Photoshop with a similar effect, if that's what you're using. People find plenty of ways to replicate pencil texture in PS too.

I was all about YYH when I was a teenager... xDToonami seriously needs to rework their lineup. I'd much rather they reran that than Naruto or back-to-back Inu-Yasha for the 20th time. )<

I am a little partial to Naruto and Inuyasha, but yeah they need to give one of them a rest so they can rerun Yuyu Hakusho.
After the Dark Tournament story arc I missed out on a lot of episodes thanks to the network randomly changing the time slot around :I
Last I remember they'd encountered a bunch of humans who had preternatural powers, like one teenage boy who rides a motorcycle could turn any object into a deadly projectile.
I vaguely remember him knocking some poor sucker out with nothing more than a piece of an eraser :0

Yeah, I feel compelled to re-watch Inu-Yasha too, knowing that's on, but now they've gotten to that insanely circuitous middle stretch of the series that consists of about a million banal filler episodes with no real relevance to the main action. XD
I was watching YYH on Toonami til they restarted it from the beginning right when they reached the Dark Tournament finals, which I was dying to see. (Kurama vs. Karasu is my favorite fight in the series) I just started buying the DVD's from there on out because they were just releasing the end of the Dark Tournament and I was sick of watching the edited version anyway. l:<
Yeah, that part where they introduced all the human psychics after the tournament was the beginning of the Chapter Black Saga! I remember the eraser bit. XD That guy was called Sniper. I always thought he looked vaguely like Yusuke with his hair unslicked. That was a cool story arc. I definitely have to watch that and the last arc again. I don't remember the details of those quite as well as I do the tournament.

As usual too much crap started happening and I didn't get to watch them TTATT
I've seen DVDs for the series floating around, but every one I've found so far had episodes too late in the series, and I HATE having to read or watch something out of order. Otherwise I'd be busy trying to figure out what the hell I missed out on.
Yeah come to think of it, that dude DID look a lot like Yusuke 8D I remember briefly wondering "what the hell did Yusuke do that for?" when I caught that episode XD

I think you've pinpointed the precise moment where the series goes bullshitty. It pretty much makes that downhill plunge right around the time Koga shows up. xD
I think they have YYH bundled into seasons now, so I wouldn't even bother with the individual DVD's at this point. Way too much of a hassle.

I did a bit of a double take when that part when I saw the Sniper kid's face. I thought that Yusuke had an evil doppleganger or something XD
The other episode I managed to catch a little of in that story arc was were they encountered that rival schoolmate of Kurama's who could jinx people based on what they said 0x0;

Oh, yeah, that Kaito dude who was all jealous of and competitive with Kurama academically. xD He and a few other other guys were the introduction to the whole "psychic" concept at the beginning of the story arc.
