Juvenile seagull. I don't know its species, what do you think it is? Taken in February.Edit: Thanks ~violent-obsession , I now know it is a Heermann's gull

mostly its online research, and a lot of knowledge and working with birds. Sometimes I recognize a bird for what it looks like, and go from there. Usually its easy if I have a specific location and a distinct shape. Like a gull from california.

No idea, I've never seen a solid coloured one before. Gulls are crazy, there are far too many species haha. This one's cute, I like that he has no pattern.
