Hey, I'm here from ProjectComment!
First of all, this is amazing!! The anatomy is pretty great, for the most part. The use of black-and-white coloring is really interesting, and you used values very well to contrast different parts. I also love her expression, and her design is very unique
The main anatomy mistakes I can notice are that the eyes are oddly round and far apart and the nose and mouth are very low down. Also, her nose could use a little work.
Another thing I think could change is the blurriness of the image. The textures are not very different from each other. This can mainly be noticed on the hair, which doesn't look like hair at all but rather a cloud around her head. Using smaller brushes could definitely help with that Also, be sure to clean up the general shape of the hair, because it has a few large streaks around it. Instead, add some smaller hairs around the edges to add some realism
I'd also like to see more detail in the facial features. You could define the lips and eyebrows more, and maybe add eyelashes and sharper highlights to the eyes.
Anyways, this is a great piece! You could definitely work with textures and variation more, and it's always a good idea to practice anatomy, but this looks really good

Hello from Project Comment!
Well drawn! I really like your style, it reminds me of some of my favorite book cover illustrations. You painted the eyes and lips beautifully! One thing I notice is that the shadows of the nostrils are a little dark and abrupt, while the upper part could be defined a little more. You did a wonderful job making the eyelids look natural and contoured, but the rest of the face appears a bit flat. Studies of skulls can help to know where to place highlights and shadows. You did really well with her collarbones. The highlights in her hair also look great. I might recommend a little more definition (not too much) in the hair. Her features are clean cut, while her hair is softer, making the hair look out of focus. While itβs completely up to your style, she seems to have an unnatural amount of hair. Itβs quite voluminous! I love her eyebrows. Eyebrows easy to overlook, but they really make the portrait. Great workΒ Β

Thank you very much for your comment, Iβm really flattered !
I agree with you, I should define the hair a little more and do some more studies.
Again, thanks for pointing that out, I really appreciate it!Β

This is very well done and has a realistic feel like most of your other pieces. I think maybe some more defined hair strands would help further enhance the hair textures. Excellent shading! I personally this style of art is hard to master because you have little to no visible line art to rely on, and you are making great progress in this style!

Thank you very much!
I'll keep what you said in mind, I agree that some more detailed hair strands would help not only the hair itself, but the painting as a whole!

Nice! I wonder if you could have more hard edges (no smudging) for shadows near hair/face intersection, under the nose, and under the eyebrow. I could be wrong though since I mainly draw man ><

Thank you!
Looking back on it, I do think I could make these edges harder, especially under the nose. I reckon that there needs to be some smudging on the eyebrows, though, to represent that the hair is growing from the skin - although I think I might have gone overboard with smudging it on this piece. Anyway, I believe it would help make the face feel more finished/detailed.
Thanks for the adviceΒ !Β
