Description
I made a tutorial
This is how I color hair. I'm not that good at explaining things but I'll do my best...
Software used:
Clip Studio Paint
1 Base color and also make sure to draw your hair linework in a separated layer, this is important!
2 Add a first layer of shadows using the airbrush tool
3 In the same airbrush layer, use the tool Pen G and set it to transparent (Press the "C" key in Clip Studio Paint) and "draw" the form of your shadows (Sorry cannot explain better but once you try, you'll understand what I mean Q_Q)
4 New shading layer. use the Pen G with a darker tone and apply more shadows to give more volume
5 Highlights, here use a lighter color to add highlights following the light source, once you do, apply blur in some areas (not all highlights)
6 Second layer of hightlights here use the same color of your base and shade some areas closer to the darkest shadows using the tool Transparent Watercolor
7 Use the same skin tone and use airbrush tool in areas closest to the skin to give it some kind of "transparent" effect.
8 To finish, go to linework layer and lock the pixel (Lock Transparent Pixel) and start coloring your linework, then make a new layer ontop of everything and draw some loose hairs!
And then you have it!
I'm sorry my english is kinda limited ><
