While I think that "into the fog" is a nice shot, I feel like it doesn't even come close to comparing to this one. There's something very special about this and enticing.
I personally like the composition in this and the crop to go with it. Perhaps it's more of the usual viewpoint, but I think it works well for this. It gives a feeling as if you were standing there, walking through the scene.
The lighting in this is gorgeous. Although brighter at the top, it's not blown out which keeps the rather muted colours in tact.
An enchanting shot that leaves me wondering what lies ahead. Wonderful!

The colours blend so well, and the scene fades away into the background which adds a sense of mystery. The eye is lead by the angle of the trees into the centre of the photo, which is perfect!
There's a lot of interest in the picture. You can spend a while looking at this shot, searching through the woodland and seeing what is about.
If I was thinking of something to critique, maybe try a different view point. Taking the photo from the ground could add a different feel to the shot, something more "different" in the foreground. Experiment! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

I really love this picture
I love the light in it and how it feels so sleepy and peaceful. I also love the colours because they're not really bright but they still give a lot of impact. It also feels really mysterious and eerie like it could be on another planet or like hundreds of thousands of years ago.

Oh, man, I love this. The fog is awesome. I love fog. I also love how clean and clear the forest floor looks. You can see right through the few leafy plants growing there to the leaf litter on the ground. It almost looks like a fantasy scene, with the fog blurring and lightening the perspective as the trees grow further and further away from the camera and the misty light shining in from the top.
I agree with Ultra-Violet-X's critique; a perspective from the forest floor may have a more dramatic effect.
I could imagine a deer, fox, or something else hiding in this picture. That would be awesome.
