Note: This is PAINTED, not photomaniped. I have progressive scans under my scraps folder here: [link]Everyone don't die of shock, I submitted something. This one unfortunately I don't have a reference picture to show you. I was going through my old art folder and found an image I had ripped out of a magazine. I thought it was sooo cool at the time and I really wanted to draw it. I never could figure out how I was going to portray that stark white and the painted face look with charcoals, so I never did do it. But, low and behold I found it, set it up next to my monitor and just went to town. No, I don't know who the model is and I will give them full face credit if you find out for me.
The eyebrows were a bit tricky, but the eyes took me forever. Since most of the face is dominated by those eyes I wanted to make them the focal point. Also, her eyes were originally a grayish blue, so I just had tweak it in my mind to give her green. They probably don't look as realistic because of it, but blah I am not redoing them. I think I am getting the hang of the painting a bit more. Layer after layer it came together and while I am not happy with her mouth or cheeks, I do like her eyes.

This piece literally took my breath away when I first saw it and I keep coming back to it. Your progress sketches are remarkable, too-- you make it look easy and extremely difficult at the same time XD
Your detail is absolutely lovely-- I can't imagine how much time went into the eyes and the eyebrows but they look perfect.
I don't think this piece looks photomanip'd at all-- it looks painted.. and that's what I think really makes it beautiful. It looks natural.

those took me a while. they aren't even lol and her right eyebrow after looking at it, needs to be filled in more towards the edge of the face lol but again I am lazy! I might go back and fix it later

Such visuals as this is what inspires me to write, both on concept (it looks dang cool and mysterious) and because it's beautiful. Thanks for posting it, it's a gorgeous piece and really shows that one of your main talents is the beauty and elegance in the way that you detail and elaborate the shapes and shading.

aww danke! I know one of the eyes/eyebrows is slightly higher than the other, and her left nostril is a bit small. But, all in all I was happy with it hehe.
