Painter XThe original photo I took in Santiago - Chile, last march.
In the process of painting I choose to work with a limited color palette as well as supress some distracting details. The architecture is only suggested. Here, the main challenge is to recreat the atmosphere and interest using lots of textures. The sky in the original was too steady, so, I created a new one in order to accord with the people movement.

Loved this painting from the minute I saw it on the CP site.....
How did you find Santiago.... I have not been any further south than San Pedro myself but I found Chile frighteningly expensive!!! Almost as bad as Mexico or Ireland!!!!
