Really very helpful. I used the perspective tool a while back, since I saw you posted it in your journal, but I haven't used sketch up yet. Also, I really enjoyed the videos you posted on your blog about the colored shadows; I'm reading a Theory of Colours by Goethe, and I see a lot of overlap.
Thanks for being so helpful,
Sasha

Yeah, I've used blender 3d so I don't think it will be too hard. I just to have to sit down and learn to use it.

if u used blender you don't need sketch up, but sketch up can do things fairly fast, and u can download free models to work from on your layout. it helps.

From what I've seen, sketch up looks a lot faster, especially for architectural models. Because of the lack of tools, it seems streamlined. I'll probably continue to use blender for organic models. I think I'll check out the free models you mentioned. Thanks.

once u download sketch up, you can use one of their buttons to just download the free models directly into sketch up, turn it to the angle you desire and export as tiff. That helps a lot when you need references.

Crap I never thought of doing that. Before I was only really good at characters but at best could only do simple cityscapes(though laziness also plays a role lmao) Thanks for the tut May! XD

i just put a basic color on top, color it to some point, then fade, blur the outline and merge down, and detail over it, i don't bother tracing it again.

;A; thanks again for another beautiful tutorial. Has anyone told you, you should get a booth at places like comicon? Or maybe teach classes for struggling art students?

yeah, for techniques, many books and resources share those very well, but if there's no right concept that's linking it up, the new comer may not "get it"
My teaching is just trying to bridge that gap if i can, sometimes its difficult,
I personally like it when it's easier to understand with visuals and comic.
I learned to swim by myself reading a comic. XD

I like following some of the works people post on here and the videos of their work-process. I can watch that sort of stuff over and over. It's kind of soul soothing. That's what I love about art.

I find this incredibly useful, as it takes an easy approach, and tells us things which may be simple but we tend to forget.
Thanks so much for sharing, I really needed some help on the subject!
Things like using references or the tools we have available at the moment are easily overlooked.
