Description This is one of my favorite pictures from NYC.
This is also one of the most interesting person we've met.

He came to me one night after seeing me work under the rain. Only a good hearted man could work like this he said.

Then we had a chat. A bit of a drunk monologue if you ask me, but still the guy was nice. He had so many stories to tell. About how he met the Queen Elisabeth once, you know plausible stuff like that.

Then he came to chat with E every morning or so. Pouring 10 onces of vodka in a glass full of ice. That was his start for the day. Then he would run on different errands, bringing stuff to hide under our trees. Stuff he would later come back to get.

Life in New York his amazing he would always say. Do you see what people throw away? It's just amazing. Full of possibilities.

On one of the worst day we had, we received a delievery of 10 feet trees. It was rainsnowing badly. I had slept for 2 hours when E came to wake me, crying because it was impossible for her to carry the trees. When I got up, I saw George shoveling all the snow in the streets, trying to get the place dry since the sewer were filled with snow and ice. He was all wet, screaming out loud about how he loved cold water. How he made him feel good.

This is one of the last pictures I have of him. I lost the last roll with the very last picture I took of him.

He was dress with a Santa Claus hat and a garbage bag filled with stuff he found.

don't you desaturate your b/ws, is it intentional, or just my monitor?

as the others, like the stories. is selling trees in ny that a business that you went down there for it, or were you guys there for other reasons?

I'm a bit careless when it comes to scanning b/w in color or in grayscale. and most of the time, when I do scan in color, I get use to seeing one picture like this so I just let it the way it is.

And we went down for the business. We made close to 10 000$ in a month which is not so bad compare to the kind of money we're making here!

2 people 10k? that's a lot indeed. you brought the trees yourself? sounds like a really good business. weird what kind of jobs bring you big money.

well 5k each.

and we only had to bring a car/econoline to sleep in. the guys over there bring the trees at night so you just have to put them on your stands. it sure is good money, but your working outside 24/7.

crazy new york but on the other way so heartbreaking and honest. the story behind it is really nice. selling trees must be horrible but with all the stories, these little and big crazy moments. very special. really like to read things like that

it sure was hard from time to time but time being time, in the end you forget about the hard time and remember the good ones.
