I had a particular purpose in posting this photo. While symbols and trappings never truly indicate what a person is all about, the "conservative media" likes to portray black Americans as somehow "less patriotic."

That's what I figured.
When I was in the Army I told folks I was a pacifist by nature and a militarist only by profession, which sat with me a lot better than the reverse.

Thinking of the late 60's when the ROTC cadre at some schools had to go to work in civvies and change after they got there so as not to be assaulted by the pacifists.
