My Khajiit from Morrowind (the tiger-y one) and Oblivion (the snowy one).In Oblivion at one point I noticed his tail was no longer there, until at one point when he became a vampire and it magically returned, along with a change in fur colour. (After the cure, his fur went back to normal but his tail remained.) So I settled with just drawing him stumpy.

What do you use as references, if anything? I've always wanted to draw Elder Scrolls stuff but could never accomplish drawing a Khajiit or Argonian.

As fun as the Elder Scrolls are the designs aren't terribly imaginative...at all. Take head of animal, slap it on sapient body, include scales or fur as appropriate, okay we're good here. So honestly your best references are straight up anatomy life drawing and cat pictures (or lizard). To make things not (accidentally) grotesque; learn your skeletons and musculature and HOW they interact. Especially when understanding how to translate human expressions onto animals

X'D i think my own Khajiit from Morrowind would throw a big hissy-fit if she lost her tail XDD (third most important thing, right under life and money, lol)
