Description Hi C: Study after a Talbot sculpture but with my own colors and some minor changes of which some were not intentional Why are faces and hands so hard to paint

Her forehead and upper part of the skull is a little too long. Aside from that it's pretty good. The hands are fine!

I think its because we see them every day and are usually drawn to look straight at faces, so changes in proportion and oddites drive painters crazy because we just keep at them until they look right. Hands are a pain, its either go to town on them with every detail or guesture where lights going to fall.

Haha totally agree, hands are terrible Would make painting so much easier if humans had more varying proportions xD Would prabably look funny. Though we would be used to it again so it probably wouldn't o.OΒ

I think you did a wonderful job with the face/hair/pose, however (especially on the left hand) I think you made the fingers look a little too...bendy. You need to remember that the last joint on a human finger doesn't bend nearly as much as the rest of them. Other than that, I think you did a very good job on this.
