Description you can see the size of this piece. blue ball point pen. anyways, i took a picture of a picture of the great thelonius monk on my iphone then used the screen shot for reference. that sucked shit. i ended up free handing most of this piece. i recommend this technique. i just didn't want to drop $30 on the book....yet.

Holy crap dude, this is just gorgeous. The cross hatching is simply amazing and it is so delicate. It almost looks like silver point. The level of depth in this piece is just stoopid.

Is it available? I think I may need to possess this one.

I'll note you. If it has been sold then good for you. Bad for me, but I'll live.

As much as I like this drawing, I also really like the quarter in it. Makes it look like an album cover or something. Very nice

Off topic but vaguely related. I rewatched The Crossroads and realized how much i love the movie, and how my music library is sorely lacking in Blues and Jazz ):

i dig that flick too.

i have a retarded amount of jazz and a fair amount of blues,...including the soundtrack to "Crossroads" by Ry Cooder and Sonny Terry.

Awesome (: you should post up a shortlist in your journal of some blues/jazz (and other) artists or albums. I'm always up for expanding my library.
