yep, jumped on that bandwagon. I always love the basic starting bird pokemon so much
though Pigeot will always be my favourite. from looking at it a bit longer this pokemon looks more like a mean waxwing than a hawk actually, same similar markings and everything

Talonflame is based on a peregrine Falcon, as evident by it's 'dives for prey at 300mph' data though size wise it is closer to a smaller hawk, the data and speed basing of the pokemon hugely imply peregrine falcon.

I actually had a friend help me identify it, but the spots on the legs of Talonflame also indicate Peregrine.

Imo, it reminds me of a Mountain Hawk-Eagle. It's found in Japan; crested, striped tail, sort of has a black mask and barred legs. But it seems to have characteristics of a Peregrine too.
Waxwing huh? I hadn't heard that. It does remind me of one.

Had to look up Waxwing, the colours, headshape and eye markings do look similar c: really cute bird too. The size of the pokemon made me think 'Hawk' right away xD
Though the tail for your picture reminds me of the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo [link] <3
I'm so excited for Pokemon X and Y and the new Pokemon, 
Though now I don't know what to do xD I normally pick the fire type starter (Though chose Turtwig over Chimchar in Platinum), but this awesome bird is fire, and the fire lion I'm interested in.. team of fire types |D

I love birds <3 from the small and colourful to the big and strong. my favourite colourful local bird is the Rainbow Bee-Eater [link] but my all time favourite are Eagles, Like the Wedge Tail <3 <3
I don't know the size of it either xD just mean it looks like it would be medium sized
I don't think they should go back and change pokemon types, I agree that messes things up, but guess we'll see how it goes.
I do want the Fennec fox ;u; its adorable, I'm not too keen on the new Eevee Evolution, mainly because of the colour I think. But I love Noivern, the dragon-bat, So far I'm think, Fire starter, Talonflae, Noivern and Pancham >W< love Panda
Yeah, Chimchar never appealed to me, but I liked both Turtwig and Piplup, went for Turtwig because I love Torterra's design with the tree on its back xD.
Joleteon was my firt favourite I think, then Typhlosion, but loved Charizard in the anime

Yes, this generation will contains uncreative names, but I give a nickname to every of my PKMN so I don't mind about their name, I'm more interested in their design!
