Been a while since I've seen this show, and I still love it. I can tell I'm late to the review on this one; honestly haven't seen it before despite looking at XS stuff on this site pretty frequently.
It does remind me of a story I had notes on, years ago.
The premise was that one of the Shen Gong Wu was something called the Mirror of Truth. The team found it in this huge hall of mirrors with magical properties; one showed you your fantasies, one showed your fears, one showed who you wanted to be when you were a kid, etc... The Mirror of Truth could only be found by someone who really knew who they were at heart and recognized their true self in the reflection.
Nobody, not Wuya, Hannibal, Chase, or the rest of the Monks could find it. Jack showed up late and the villains left in frustration since they had been searching for hours, deciding this one just wasn't worth the effort. The monks stayed and continued, teasing Jack relentlessly over his even bothering to try.
Moments later he lets out a weird, scared little sound and hands Raimundo the right mirror, facing it away from himself.
The rest of the story is about the Monks speculating on what he saw because it was so terrible that he didn't even want the mirror or challenge them for it.
I never did finish it, but I do know what Jack saw:
Something like this.
Thanks!

Well this stabbed me in the heart. The expressions on their faces make me so sad and the bloody heart and Good Jack's everything is just so...well good. You did a great job with this; I also like the hands.

Nah, that's not overtly disturbing because of the blood.
I can think of MANY ways for you to make it more disturbing, trust me. You could've made good Jack's expression look like this fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/201… , for example. You're welcome for giving you nightmares!
You also could've shown the wound where he got the blood. Though I AM kind of confused as to why he's writing in his own blood. I mean, Jack doesn't seem that mad at him-- he's just in denial that his good side even exists. So why is he so desperate to communicate with Jack that he's hurting himself just to be able to speak?

I always find interesting the "fight" between Good Jack and Normal Bad Jack, and this picture shows it perfectly. Jack very very very very deep inside him is a good guy he just to insecure of himself to show it.

i think that jack chose to be evil because he's been pushed away by people, and in turn found out that easy rewards and no guilt are the best things ever for being with the bad guys.
and i think he truly enjoys it, though not going as far as to maim or hurt people. (thus why the universe where he conquers the world is dark. he probably snapped at some point)
he's also insecure and he would only manage to show some worth if someone was patient enough to give him the right attention ;^; i'm sort of sad he's used as a funny joke in the series -3-

Dude, have you even saw the pilot? He told his robots to 'mince' the monks.

If he doesn't want to hurt no one, then why he has killer robots?

bit late in reply but here we go
i didn't say he didnt do, or choose to do, evil things, especially since he's pretty set on being evil, but we've seen in one particular episode that he did try and stop being evil (and it failed) and omi and jack had a showdown related to a shen gong wu about truth or lie
it's been hhhh so many years since i've watched that episode but omi says something like 'truth or lie, did you steal the shen gong wu because you were afraid you'd fail at being good like you fail at being evil?' and then jack tried to cover it up by saying he'd planned on turning all along, which was a lie -he tried to be good and failed, not out of him being evil, but out of him being too afraid to truly commit.
being good is more work than being evil, but he also hasn't had any sort of positive model to look at, and evil is more alluring because it rewards. (though he is also plenty fooling himself there, since being evil never did reward him at all other than turning him into a laughing spot) and he's always been pretty set on wanting to be evil and doing all he could. (again, that doesn't mean he couldn't go on a redeeming path, aknowledging his wrongs and doing amends for real, and not erasing what he did and his evil tendencies, but i do feel he would have had a good chance w the original seasons. never watched the revamp so i can't say anything about that)
hhhh years and i stll have a lot of thoughts about jack spicer.

Oh, yes, right, now if I may ask, it is safe to say that he's a spoiled rich brat? I mean you said he choosed evil for rewards.

yep he definitely is. i'd love to see what could come of him having a decent growth and an attempt to steer him away from his childish behaviours, but it'd take time.

grew up rich, parents were never seen in the entirety of the series, but it is hinted that his grandma is all about his evil career, while his mother loves him to learn respectable things like ice skating, he has far more freedom than he should, which allows him to use his 'genius' to create destructive robots yet have nothing to throw them at until the monks arrive, which implies that if he hadn't freed wuya there would be absolutely no way for him to continue on the actual path of evil. he's allowed free reign and gets upset when he doesnt get what he wanted, and while he's continuously put down as useless and stupid bcs that's how the series is, he merely exists as one of those 'seems to be the main evil but is in truth more of a nuisance as the series continues, yet rather than learn or move on from this status, he's used as a continuous clown while the protagonists deal with Actually Real Baddies.
he literally is a child who doesnt have much parental attention, is left too free to do as he wants, was never truly guided away from this misguided idea that evil is better, is rich enough and with enough freedom to pursue this, and has no other outlet, and due to this is still somewhat childish. being put agaisnt characters who act more mature than he is probably makes him feel inferior so he throws in insults and feels cornered and it makes his attitude worse. he's A Mess and I love him a lot but damn son.

So, do you think, his grandma influenced him? And if being rich makes you evil, then why is Kimiko good?

Yet I do not think anyone can not be happy always...)))~

di base perchè, avendo jack rinunciato e cacciato via la sua parte buona, è come se avesse tagliato quella parte di sè, quindi good jack 'perde sangue' dal cuore, per indicare il taglio netto.

I wish the show explored more of Good Jack and Bad Jack's relationship, I felt like they missed a good opportunity of character development... but then again, Jack ended up being only comedy relief in the end :/
I really like Good Jack's expression in the mirror.
