True story, I was working on a project for a famous musician, and got inspired by interpreting some lyrics about a journey over a wild sea... it was kind of theatrical, and a different style for me... but thank you very much!

You know, back when I was in school I had this one instructor who was adamant that digital work wasn't "real" art. Screw him. Anyone who disdains computer-generated art as somehow "illegitimate" ought to take a good long look at work like this. It was a challenge and a learning experience for you as you created it, and it's inspiring to the rest of us, and it just plain looks fantastic, so dammit, it's a fine work of art in my book.

athas, couldn't agree more... i had a long debate with my father when he was alive, who was himself a brilliant artist and teacher, about the medium. my stance was simple: it is the pen and ink and paper of the 21st century. just like a stretched cotton duck canvas, a nice big blank page in photoshop is the same thing, waiting to be filled with ideas and concepts. we still have to mix colors, blend, balance light and dark, form and shadow... we're just not getting our hands dirty with the paint and fumes. i do try to avoid obvious short cut tricky (like lens flare - which i used to put in EVERY piece) but other than that, i prefer to spend hours hunched over the screen, than to spend hours hunched over a canvas. thank you for your comments and kind words!

i have a horrible habit of holding my breath when i draw, no matter what my dad told me, i still can't get over that bad habit.. i was freaking passing out through this whole drawing... file size sat around 380Meg when opened, i kept flattening layers to keep the machine running full bore...
