Whoo! A sad Crow for the soul. This scene would have taken place shortly after their Mentor passed away, perhaps a week or two.

Being given their late mentor's old necklace before he was buried, Crow could nearly feel their heart crumble as they stared down at the wooden beads that had once rested against that old furball's fluffy chest, hanging right above the warmth of his heart. The warmth that they would never be able to feel again.
Little Crow here had taken the death of their mentor very badly when the time came. After facing their initial denial of his death, they had been swept under a heavy blanket of depression, losing their passion for medicine and losing their ability to stomach food for a good few moons.
Eventually, after much struggle and many moons, they got back on their feet and healed both in body and heart. They slowly came to understand, even though they would no longer see their mentor busy at work in the den, the warmth that they had found in his heart was still kindling their own. However, they still spare a quiet night every now and then to reminisce and speak to their late mentor, eyes cast up to the stars.
