Nice picture, but clearly a struggle to capture the midtones...
The angle of the shadow is a clearly indicator that the sun was right up in the sky... a difficult time to capture a picture like this...
And for the same reason, i believe you choose black white since colour will lack its depth at this time of the day...
Since this a picture of kids of the street, and it is difficult to get them to be at the place you want them to be... i believe this is a good shot and the best you can do for the moment...
I suggest you go out to shoot when the light is right... as there will always be action on the streets...
And if it was possible to get any closer to the boys, I would throw in some flash... if i had to click at this time of the day.

Thanks for the critique. You are right sun was very hard at that moment but i was at Mardin(southeast part of Turkey) and it was like 40C all day. I just liked the kids and the graphical background of the stairs. Thanks again for taking time for this. Regards
