Description

The nest day me and Dan invited Melody to the park at our favorite spot, she was acting very strange but it just seemed like normal paranoia of public places.

When I was getting ready the flowing morning I want down stairs to see my aunt talking to my mother, it could only mean one thing

I’d have to stay behind and listen to the whole conversation.

“Oh Charlies!” she spotted me, and here I thought I could sneak out.

“Come sit with us! Your ant was just telling me the funniest story” my mom sounded overjoyed, huh good thing I got up early. I could have sworn id been there for year before I finally got to go. “uh mom I’d love to stay and chat but I have a study group im late for” my mother perked up “why didn’t you tell me go and hurry and don’t want your grades slipping!” she sounded a little mad.

I ran as fast as I could and the park was 16 minutes away from my house and I was going to be late, but the thing is, I was there in 2. By the time I realized where I was I spotted melody I quickly yells “sorry im late!” and after that I muttered under my breath “family is a bitch”. I stopped for a few seconds and said "Are you ready to play at the garden?" she nodded and said

"Really?”

O geez shed mad at me

"Y-yeah. y-you're not mad at me are you?" I was sure she was.

"N-no, I..." turns out she wasn’t “Never mind, I can't wait to see the garden." She said

I lead her through the garden and past the beautiful sky walls, until we reached the spot. I was about so say something when I saw her face completely immerged in the scenery and wordless.

It was a couple moment before I continued to take her to the spot.

"What is this place?" she said as she sat underneath the trees “I've never seen something like this before."

I looked at her and said “It's a garden." I turned to look at the biggest tree in the place then continued “Dad said that a friend of his uncle made a bill so the top of some of these building could be made into a place to grow plants."

"These places?" she looked confused "With all the exhaust pipes?"

"Not all of them, silly." I couldn’t help but laugh "Just the ones with steam vents, that way the water can help grow the plants."

    Then I was interrupted "Hey guys!” it was Dan "I got the hat!" I think the hat is ugly to be honest.

"What kind of hat is that? Why did you bring a hat?" Melody looked confused again.

Dan flipped the hat on his head but not the correct way then said “Don't I look lovely in it?"

In my mind I thought of the best joke but didn’t say

Melody burst into laughter and we both looked at her and Dan said "So you do laugh then." I rolled my eyes at this remark

Then Dan continued “It was in my grandma's basement. She said Grandpap use to wear it for shows he would perform in."

"It sounds stupid," I blurted out but immediately tried to change the subject "But we still have fun with it."

Melody looked even more confused “how?”

   "Like this!" Dan threw the hat sideways, and it cut through the air but before I could get any real speed, then threw it back

"This is how we spend the weekends." I said “Just doing things like this."

The hat came back at me almost hitting me in the face I caught it and said "Catch!" as I threw it to Melody, she caught it and threw it back

It looked like she knew shat she was doing but it was a flop as it crashed to the floor "It looked so easy...” she said as she tried again

"I can show you," I said “it just takes some practice." We practiced for a while then before I knew it I had to run home.

"Wanna play tomorrow?" I asked

"I can't." she said "Father has tutors for me all Sunday." She looked sad.

Then Dan came along and said “That's fine" he said as he spun the old hat around his finger "We can just talk more at school." He once again flopped the hat on his head then ran home.

Melody just stood there for a bit then I want up to her and said “Are you sure you're alright?"

"I promise." She said as she left

I’m starting to get a little worried.
