Description
When I started working on this subject, the pebbles looked like potatoes and I felt desperate! I told my teacher about it and she gave me some useful advice. After I worked some more on the painting, the potatoes became pebbles. Thank you, Homa!I painted this in February, 2008

i still see potato, but im irish and hungry and you put ideas in my head.
thanks for posting how you 'improved' your work as you progressed. shadows are something i don't know anything about... 'light has a source?' but it's so essential even if realism is not your intention, it has such an impact on mood or atmosphere.

Gosh, first I thought it was a photo until I viewed the painting in high resolution and found out it's a painting. Very realistic! It must have been exhausting work studying stones, but the result is gorgeous.

Thank you very much for your kind comment! My instructor gave me some tips to fix my potatoes (lol) and I was fortunately could do it. The main thing she advised me was that I should use more colors than we can see on the surface of the pebbles. I put a lot of blue, mauve, orange and so on and they turned to be pebbles!

Oh, yes, potatoes!! lol I was at a loss when I started painting it, but thanks to my painting instructor's advice, it turned to be nice pebbles in the end!! LOL
