Something I drew quite some time ago, back when episode 3 had just gotten released and everyone went berserk over Ashley. Back when everyone thought that she was betraying Sal going to testify AGAINST him, which she never did and as I thought, was just the exaggerated news exaggerating news to sell more.

Remember those times?

I always thought she was up to something, so I was pretty upset but not hating her guts like almost everyone else. Actually I'd just imagined how Sal could've felt when he saw that newspaper.

To me this felt like more than just a betrayal. More like a feeling of total defeat, your last ounce of hope finally sipping out of your being, nothing left for you to hold on to. At least that's how I saw it, and I remember wanting to draw something related. Try some concept skills and stuff. Sal with his head down and limp arms just letting himself be pierced and bleed by the hands of someone who he's trusted and loved so dearly. Ashley apparently kissing his hands, but kissing the roses, covered by them. That time I read that yellow roses mean friendship and joy, but for some they could also be considered a sign of bad luck, jealousy and betrayal.

Anyways, just wanted to share this! What do you think?
