Just finished my videogame project, OMG it was hard (I'll post the details later). Finally, it's Doll Time!!! Can't wait to open a new clay box and start something)))

Tried to create a BJD today. Oops, that's not for me, takes too much patience
I'd rather make something more ugly and simple. Russian mythology is so mysterious and interesting - no logic there, too many symbols... hmmm... need to do something about it, sadly Russians knows so little about our myths these days...

It's sad how much of your culture was lost due to previous political states- it is a rich and lovely folkloric history. So much lost...it really does make me sad.

BJD's...well, people complain about my style of art doll being too process heavy- but doing BJD's seems a thousand times more process heavy. I'd like to learn to do it and maybe try some, but they would not be the typical Asian influenced fair, but more like satyrs and fauns and ogres and the like.

U-huh, same here, I wanted to create a BJD goblin or something, and plus I've found a good material for almost everything, check it out if you haven't already:

Way better then Super Sculpey and not as fragile as most of those clays, but it's a little heavy when baked. Also it doesn't "shine" from the inside, but my Lord it's cool! :joy:
And you can carve it, and drill it with no problem! And sandpaper does wonders to it, too!

That link went to other Sculpey products- are you referring to Sculpey Firm- the gray stuff?

Oops, sorry, I meant the Sculpey Original (the white stuff)

Hmm... I have had mixed results with that one. If you want something stronger for the actual joints I would recommend something like Apoxie Sculpt or Magic sculpt.
