That boi was set up to fail - Han barely there, Leia busy, Uncle ignored him, and a voice in his head since he was a kid
plus if they're basing his story sorta off Anakin's Rey would die, not him

I'll be honest, I was disappointed in Kylo's performance in the first movie in terms of saber dueling, but against Luke, he was able to show off some moves. Even if it wasn't a real match, and Luke would really have been toying with him at that point, between the fight on Crait and the fight with the guards I think the final duel between him and Rey will be pretty cool.
