Commission forIf you was running through dungeons, dodging traps, trying to survive, all that game logic, even you deserve a vacation once in a while XD
This was going to be without the leaves of the trees but after looking at it again in sketch form, I decided to add them in. Also this pic is heavily influenced and based in reference to TonyBearComic pic for TamerKoh commission idea
I seriously need to learn how to execute a better use for shading and highlighting. This pic really deserve better shading and highlighting. I get the idea but the execution falls short when I try. TamerKoh helped here abit. I really need to get better on that, plus my shading and highlighting seriously need an updating in my art to be much better and easier x-x

Even though is referenced, it is one of your better pieces because you are putting your characters in an environment, though I was suggest putting more backgrounds in your pictures. I can tell you put a lot of time in effort in this piece and for what it's worth, it's done well.

Thank you very much for that. Yeah it was heavily referenced due to the idea and I do like how it turned out, I feel that it could have been better in some way. A BG would have been great but I still need to work on BGs, like generating good ideas for simple BGs and how to execute them, plus still think I should work on shading and lighting more too. This pic to me feels that it deserved a better shading and highlighting to it

Any piece of artwork can be better and the fact you recognize that means you're better than most of these artists. Even I feel I could do better, just one day at a time. I would say watch some cartoons and try to mimic their backgrounds for a while to get a feel for them. I need to do more of that myself actually. Shading for me is still a major issue and chore for me. It can be difficult to decide where the light should hit something or not. I haven't found many good cartoons for that. Most of their shading is basic or not existing. The best thing I can imagine is to find some artists art there that know how to do it, or looking at still life to see how the light bends and curves around objects. For what it's worth, this picture is the best of what you've done. i'd say to keep trying to meet or beat that standard for each picture you draw.

It think it turned out great =3. Yes, there can be improvements, but it will surely happen over time~ One thing I do have to say, though, is that there's a tradeoff. Usually, for shading and lighting, for the better results, it takes a bit more time. It's worth it, though, if you want to improve your output.

I love the colors and they way the feet are drawn in this one; that little bit of shine on the toes really make them stand out!
