How can one of the most beautiful spiders in the world give you an ugly feeling.
Brachypelma smithi will be one of my next tarantulas.

It is a big one, but beautiful to photograph. Do you like spiders in your bed. I have had once a big runningspider crawling over my face at night, horrible. Normal spiders I am not afraid for. But big ones....

BTW I have send it to you beacuse I know you love spiders, but not that I hate you, on behalf of the sentence in the comment

Thanks for the fave and the enthousiastic comment, it was hard to take , because the glass window in the zoo was very smaal and the spider wasn't moving, so I could see his eyes.

Nice spider, nice shot, especially nicely framed (if you ignore the tiny bits where you can't see the legs completly)!
I love the way it really fills the image.

i'm just not sure about the focus it's very close to the legs and you can't see the eyes.
If i were you I would rather choose something to point the focus to - favorites here are usually eyes mouth a.s.o.
or try to increase the range of focus (not use App. F/4.5 but something closer to F/20?) or maybe use less magnification and crop it.

Thanks for the tips, I had to cut a little of the legs, because there was a window edge, and the spider was not moving away from, So I couldn't take the focus to his eyes, but thanks for the many tips

was the spider in a terrarium? wow bet you have been waiting for ages until it got out! that changes alot! (i.e.: you often can't choose the angle properly)
you can't see any window reflections or flares - which is not always that easy!

You have to put your camera against the glass, so no light is coming on th glass for your lens

ah thats a neat trick, suppose you want to shoot photos from 90 degrees and your lens hood is with you.

I'll remember that
