Maybe so, but I really like the roughness of the picture. It makes it very interesting and adds a level of character that would have otherwise been absent. The strokes around your subject are rough and some blurred it contrasts nicely with the overall smoothness of her face. Her expression is peaceful, I think, and that is highlighted by the juxtaposition of this constant moving of everything around her expression. It may have been better if you'd a bit more attention to the right cheek and the right side of the forehead near the arch of the eyebrow, but otherwise, I really like this piece. It's very eye-catching.

Fantastic painting! The girl herself has a nice solemn confident look about her, as she's with eyes closed in meditative thought. Would definitely spend a good few minutes looking at this in an art exhibition.
