Description
This is a dragon I painted on 50x100 cm canvas with acrylics wax patina, bitumen patina and oils. When I painted this I was thinking that my household could use some protection and I already bought the canvas to fit a place on the wall between above the bed in my bedroom so I thought why not paint a dragon.
It was fun to paint but there were,,, sooo many scales... but it is finally done.

This is so amazingly done. I love how much detail you put into this with all of the individual scales. You did an amazing job with the lighting on the scales and the sky. It's so awesome that you did this by hand! I have never been good with doing art like this outside of my computer. I definitely would love to see more fantasy art like this.Β

Thank you so much. Yes the scales were time consuming. I've done portions of the dragon scales at intervals and I was keep saying to myself "I have done an army of scales, I have another army of scales to do tomorrow." The sky was the easiest part and the most fun in terms of combining colors.
I am so glad you like it. I will try and paint another the next year. It will take time though.
