I hope everything gets better soon! In Russian Army, nobody can replace the AK pattern system! Some have tried, but without success. And yes, AK is deliberately right-handed weapon. I have word from old veterans that reloading is fastest when done right-handedly, as opposed to the popular "Hollywood Reload" of using the off-hand for everything except pulling the trigger (and where the user keeps his trigger finger ON the trigger, usually resulting in the guy shooting his friend in the kneecap).
