The 417th Pathfinder Division, nicknamed the ‘Sun Chasers’, was one of the 80 Corps that made up the backbone of the Grand Army of the Republic. Forged by the fires raging throughout the Clone Wars, the 417th was a front-line unit, and had seen some of the most intense, and draining, battles in the West quadrant of the Galaxy. Their most notable campaign involvement was Operation: Medusa. It was also one of the bloodiest. The Separatists had many planets where they stationed factories throughout the galaxy, but their biggest factories-the ones that were responsible for mass production of droids to send out at a moments’ notice-were all stationed within the same few systems. It was the job of the 417th to cut the supply systems from the rest of Seperatist territory. So if they wanted to get their supplies, they’d have to go through the Republic first. Marshal Commander Morga’a oversaw the entire 417th, and did so with an almost droid-like drive for success. No sooner had they successfully captured another key planet to create a separating belt between the two points of Seperatist space, Morga’a ordered his men to ready up and prepare for the next battle. Some of the men questioned if Morga’a ever actually slept. He always seemed to be perfectly functional, no matter what time it was onboard. No matter how many fell, and no matter the cost, they couldn’t waste a moment. In Morga’a’s eyes, the Republic was relying on them. If the War was to have a swift end, they had to succeed. That was the Path they were finding; the path towards a total, Republic victory.
