They are not disturbing. They allow the falconer to hold the bird in a gloves hand without hurting it.

I disagree, I'm sorry. No when you see those leashes around bird's legs. Keeping birds in captivity just for the sake of watching them hunting is deeply egoistic, in my opinion.
Regarding the picture, it's fantastic.

I apologize, I didn't know where the photo was taken (well, nobody except you knew it, actually). I love birds and Nature, this is the reason I deeply dislike falconry (despite my opinion not being asked for, I know ) But perhaps this particular bird was bred with educational purposes or something like that.
I keep on saying the picture is superb, but I'm afraid I'll keep on feeling a bit of sadness.
