Description
I've yet to fix a new handle for my broken axe, but I have bought another one. It's a really, really cheap bearded axe by Cold Steel, but still nice enough to turn into a pretty prop for markets after some decoration. The newer axe has my name on it in runes of the Elder Futhark, because I find it more aesthetically pleasing than the younger rune-alphabet. I've also burned onto it a valknut and a triquetra, both of which are fitting Viking Age symbols of power. Besides pyrography and paintwork, I've also covered the axe in a layer of dark brown varnish. The axe still needs a leather holster, so that I can walk around at markets without touch-happy tourists slicing their fingers on the blade.
