I read so much of SCP-Foundation XD

Yeh, the stories on there are really awesome. Especially to a creepypasta enthusiast such as myself! Hahaha

And it covers such a huge variation of subjects! From ancient axes that kill the user to mindcontrolling stuff to an IP address where you can download torrents from the future XD

I was actually really bored by that last one, but that's not the point XP

What are your favorite SCPs?

I can't remember the exact one, but the one that's like a shadow person-thing... I'll try to find it.

And 261, the vending machine one.

And 1733, which is a recording of a basketball game, but the people inside remember being stuck in the stadium, and they are actual people. It said tht after playing it, eventually they started sacrificing children and stuff...

The vending machine is epic, I love the whole list of things that have come out of it. Wait, I think there are two of them, also one that needs to be inserted money, which was pretty much just as cool. Which one do you mean?

I haven't read 1733 yet, but I've looked it up and will later

I kind of merged the two into one. Bad memory. Sorry.

I was talking about both 261, where it has the list of things, and 294, that dispenses any liquid you type in.

They are both incredibly epic I wouldn't know which one I like more.

The Basketball match is cool, I enjoyed reading it :3

And I was considering writing a story like that too... Where a high school loses all contact with the outside world. It would include typical things that are pretty much always involved in everything I write. So, murder, cannibalism, manipulation, theft, etc.

Also I've recently been concerned because a lot of people are upset or disturbed by the torture scene in Grand Theft Auto V. I got a lot of sick pleasure out of it... Like, not in a sexual way. But, I played it 4 times...

There is controversy surrounding the entire game because of its violence. Personally, I am indifferent to the whole thing. And very political in my opinion XP

But I see, that's for most people an unusual way to look at it. I know one kid who'd definitely feel the same way, but other than that... As always, I'd say that as long as things only happen in your mind, you're alright. If I would have done everything that came into my mind I'd definitely be in prison by now XD

But that story idea is cool, you can do a lot of great stuff with that!

*asks dr Google what's this* Errr... yeah.

I wonder whether using more contrast would make it a bit better... All the colours are similar now. (But I'm not a spriting expert, you know...)

Maplestrip In reply to lichotka [2013-07-01 17:54:36 +0000 UTC]

The creepypasta character is rather bland overall, so I didn't want to make him too colorful. It wouldn't really suit a character like this either. If I would have done backgrounds, I could have made a nice contrast (black and near-white, perhaps dark blue?) - but I didn't do that (backgrounds aren't easy with spriting either way and I'd rather focus on the character)
Perhaps I should have used more contrast with the Ness sprite... >.>

Thanks for the feedback on these three, I'm really glad you liked them (overall), and I'm planning on making more of these!

It's nice to see you back to work ;]

Of course, I'm not a spriting expert so I can be wrong. I'm just writing about what I feel about it. I can't project the result of what I'm saying in my head.

Haha, don't worry, I understand that. I enjoy any feedback. There are also plenty of simularities between small spritework and bigger arts. Another view on things is perfect, the more different, the better

So yeah, you should even feel free to say you hate something

Don't worry, if I do hate something, I'll tell you

Thanks, that's the nicest thing you could say to me XD

I'll try to do the same with you, but me being critical like that is kinda punched out of me :s I used to be... Well, more mean.

You could totally do commissioned icons for people

Maplestrip In reply to CuryPotato [2013-06-24 22:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Commissions even...?

Woah, I didn't even think of that... Though that would be really cool.

Thanks for the idea, I'll think about it as I practice more 0.o Also thanks a lot for the two faves!

CuryPotato In reply to Maplestrip [2013-06-24 22:37:14 +0000 UTC]

They're really well done and detailed. And they look neater (IMO) because the edges curve. I think point commissions or even actual money would be cool.

Maplestrip In reply to CuryPotato [2013-06-24 23:00:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm really happy with the positive feedback! I did do my best on them.

This does make me think, commissions (whether it being points or money) might actually be exactly what I could use.

CuryPotato In reply to Maplestrip [2013-06-24 23:45:26 +0000 UTC]

I like points because it feels rewarding, but with money you can actually use it, plus the rewarding feel.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Maplestrip In reply to CuryPotato [2013-06-25 07:01:09 +0000 UTC]

Indeed.

How many points/moneyz do you think a commission like these could be worth?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CuryPotato In reply to Maplestrip [2013-06-25 08:17:41 +0000 UTC]

Well it depends on how much you want to make. I think 80 points is worth 1 US dollar so I don't know, you could do small little practice 20p commissions or you could do 80p or 100p, etc. They're really good, and I would try to get them advertised in bigger dA groups.

Maplestrip In reply to CuryPotato [2013-06-25 09:20:35 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, wow. I guess I could sell these things for 50 points each or so...

I would personally rather wait with advertising them, though (this is all going fast enough as it is already ), but it is definitely a good idea. I'll make a few more of these first and then I might open them commissions up!

CuryPotato In reply to Maplestrip [2013-06-25 14:11:52 +0000 UTC]

If you do commissions, don't use the widget. It'll take 20% of your profits. It's dumb. I mean, you could put it up there to show prices and then ask people to just send you the points.

And for advertising, you could write something quick once your set up is finished. Like "Icon Commissions Open! Prices - (blah) (blah) (blah)" and then put it in some advertising groups/icon groups/etc. You could even make an ad with AdCast like I did. It's a bit of money, but it's pretty awesome (it's based on how many clicks you want to buy => about.deviantart.com/advertisi... )

Maplestrip In reply to CuryPotato [2013-06-25 14:51:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I think I would be able to advertise my stuff plenty (if it as good as you say it is )
I am really glad that you reminded me of the widget too, especially because I thought that is was only for premium users, but apparently not. It might be really useful, actually, to make clear what the commission would be, though I don't know how it would even work (I will be sure not to let anyone pay through that widget, though >.>)

And I won't be using AdCast as I am far too cheap for that, but it is a pretty cool feature :3

Well, I am trying out the widget and I guess it looks good enough. Now I just need a little more practice. I did make two more, but neither of them are really good >.>

I will probably open them up when I get back from the weekend vacation thing
