Done for the July '10 contest. I drew the sketches of Fakir and Mytho almost immediately after the prompt was revealed but forgot about them until there was less than a week left in the contest.
I like the black-and-white fashion spreads you find in magazines and so tried to recreate that effect here with Mytho and Fakir as my models. (Though I admit, the first idea that popped into my head was to draw Fakir in a Giorgio Armani-style spread with an unbuttoned shirt... suffice to say I stifled that idea pretty quickly.
) I also used the name of my doujin community, Clover Cubed as the "brand". I'm not a fashion savvy person but I tried to give Mytho a classy metrosexual look. For Fakir, I wanted to give him a rebellious poet-type look with the vintage prints on his shirt and the leather jacket. I don't know if that really comes across well since I used screen tones and this is in b&w, but I think they look good.

I am also not at all fashion-savvy, but your designs look really good to me! And that is an EPIC use of greyscale; the textures and gradients are absolutely fantastic. Really impressive overall.

A important part of fashion (well one I always pay attention to) is the textures and subtle patterns of the fabric. I'm glad you paid attention to that.

I did look at some b&w fashion spread online as references and I wanted the picture to look as authentic as possible so I came up with some silly fashion-esque nonsense to put in the corner. XD;; Still, glad you think it looks good.

Anyway! I think putting Mytho in a vest was perfect! Fakir's shirt is nifty (and I bet Autor has tried to steel it from him more than once) and the scarf just makes me happy!

I did try to include Autor (as a modeling trio) but my idea for him didn't pan out. This fanart is pretty much a one-shot deal but we'll see what future club contest brings. ^^
