I have no time now;;I'll be back later...hopefully;;
From a practical viewpoint, the rumor about Sonic going to MS didn't become a reality.
I have read with interest the argument between some people about the famous 3 platforms in this thread.
Indeed, Sonic game can play on each platforms nowadays.
Each platforms have each respective merits, so many people have to hesitate which to choose.
But on every platform, we can play Sonic game, it's good for us.
Speaking for myself, it doesn't matter which platform is better than other.
If I'm allowed to wish so much, I want to Sonic to be the corporate character of SEGA forever.

I think Sonic should've been on XBOX in the first place, not Gamecube. (Sega and Nintendo don't go together since they used to be rivals)
I would NEVER want Sonic on PS2 though. Sony already has big titles, such as Rachant and Clank and Jak games. So Sonic doesn't need exclusive titles for PS2.
Shadow the Hedgehog will be multiplatformed, so everyone will play the game on all 3 systems.
I might get the XBOX version of the game.

Well, I'll buy Shadow the Hedgehog as Xbox version because it might have English voice like Sonic Heroes. Nintendo seemed not to be able to add English voice to SH because of the lack of capacity of that media.

Also, there NEVER was a rumor that Sonic was gonna be Xbox only. Sonic is on ALL plaforms, including PC. Why? So EVERYONE can have a chance to enjoy Sonic games, not just GameCube owners. I think thats a darn good idea.

I kinda think Sonic should go to Nintendo, because they made the most games with them and did a good job with those. And Sonic Mega Collection was on the PC, does that mean other games like Shadow the Hedgehog are on the PC too?
But Sonic on the Xbox 360 was awesome, so I can't say he should be with Nintendo. But you are an genius for saying: that Sonic deserves to be played by everyone and its the game that counts, not exactly the console. Sonic should be the living ghost of what is left of Sega, even though their console days have come to and end. You bring up a great point and I like your style. I am getting or already have the: PSP, Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, Wii, Xbox 360 so I can have every Sonic game in general. Oh, and nice poll, I had to read the whole thing. ^_^

Anyway,even if its separate games, I think Sonic should be on all the platforms so everyone can enjoy the games. Also, I know Sonic Mega Collection Plus came out on PC, as well as Sonic Heros and Sonic Riders.
Also, I thought it was really, really glitchy and uber-rushed but showed it had allot of potential, then again Sonic Team tried to develop for two completely new platforms (Xbox 360, PS3 - especially PS3 since developing on it is a pain) and develop a more graphical game in under a year. Yea, its sad that their mascot and their company has gone downhill as of late, but who knows, Sega might finally come back =3. I only own a Xbox 360 and DS (and really good gaming PC), and might get a Wii

Wow! Sonic Riders and Sonic Heroes on the PC? And in Sonic Riders, Nights (if you know who that is) is an available character. I recently figured that out. And I did notice that you made this start of a series of comments 3 years ago, I was wondering how you would take a blast from the past so suddenly! And yes Sonic the Hedgehog was a very glitchy game, but very fun in my opinion. My friend and I do tag mode all the time together. Oh and the Wii is great, but I'm a little "Wiitarted" as I like to call it. And I almost killed myself playing Sonic and The Secret Rings.

""I don't care exactly what console it is, all a console is a hardware delivery methoid for your game, its the game your playing that counts. But I have an Xbox but its modified so I can have emulators, a media center, etc. on it, and put games on my HDD. Also, whats with everyone being all "GO GC and Xbox sucks" lately? I am sick of it, its just hardware. If you like the game, ENJOY IT, don't bash others games and consoles and ruin their fun. You want that to happen to you? >_< . Plus, I hate the lame excuse that like Sony and MS shouldn't be in it because they make other stuff. That doesn't effect how the product is, because they, just like Nintendo, have large dev groups and planners and whatnot working hard to make it and all are proud of their work. All the consoles are unique, and have their own share of games, but its not a reason to judge a console on negivie parts. Just look at their positive dvantages, like the GC has a small, lightweight deisgn which is good for portability, and is expandable, so you can have allot of expantions such as the GBA Player, which Nintendo is known for making allot of expantions, especally for their GameBoys.
The Xbox had the built in hard drive, which is good for game saves and good for developers so they can have game cache to make game loads faster and make a VRAM type thing to make bigger scenes possable and you can also have downloadable expantions. It also has a built in NIC so you can do system link and Xbox Live right out of the box without needing an expantion. Also, Yes, even though it is the most powerful console technically, but, unfortually, most games have to end up being ports that don't even take advange of the unique features of the Xbox. But atleast one mutimillion selling game will take full advantage of all of it (Halo 2 obviously).
And I don't know about the PS2 special features, since I never owned one personally. But, it does have the largest libary of games due to its age.
And yes, some do have downsides, such as the GC has no online games besides PSO (which I don't see why, their fully capable of it), the PS2 has slow load times due to its older drive and many games on its large libary aren't exactly too great, and the Xbox is slightly big (but it has a reason, its bulit totly flat (unlike the GCs lego like hardware design) and they had to put a full size DVD drive and hard drive in it, so even though its "big", its actually crammed in there (I know from modding the thing).
But one thing is, they ALL have excellent games, rather it be muticonsole, or the several good excelusive games for them. But its those games that count more than anything. Because without games, a console would just be a large, pretty much useless, chunch of hardware.
But come on, don't be "fanboys". We choose the console that best fits us, and let us enjoy it, and you should enjoy yours. Don't critize others choices by bashing it. That is one major thing I been sick of lately. Its even come to the point that I have even seen Sonic fans are bashing other Sonic fans over the console, even though its the same game (Sonic Heroes) which is just plain stupid, especally since their discussing THE SAME GAME, but bashing over it being on a different platform, and I've seen this on other games too. ITS THE SAME GAME, just running on a different console and using a different controller..""

At that time, there were the rumor that Sonic goes to MS.
That was really rumor but interesting.
It reminded me that when MS wanted to merge with SEGA, I heard rumor that Sonic will be corporate character of MS because they don't have main corporate character.
But today, Sonic has gone to all platform to earn more money for SEGA.
Nintendo is the best place that pays huge money.^^
