and yes it was a heavy rain but there was very little thunder. It would have been great to catch a few lightning strikes with this scene.

This time of year we get many opportunities like this , we call it the Monsoon season. Soon the season will end and the skies will go back to being cloudless most for the time.

I know what you mean about the monsoon ending...It ended here (South Dakota) about 3 weeks ago and the skies are cloudless and Blue or hazy. Very demotivational for a landscape photographer like myself
