Description Just some variants of Primarina but based on musical fashions! From top-left to bottom-right: 80s Glam Rock, 90s Rave, Regular Primarina (center), Hair Metal, 50s Jazz.

I should doodle some more some time cause they're fun! My fashion knowledge is not super great though.

I printed these as vinyl stickers as well! You can purchase them in my store if you're interested

I love all of these! So cool! They fit each era's music fashion style quite well and keep it clear which pokemon it is supposed to be at the same time. But would the regular one be '00s Pop? It seems more classy, but still very vibrant and colorful. And what era would the Hair Metal variant be from? The 70s? If not then what kind of music fashion would be from that era? Hippie music, right? But regular Primarina seems like it kind of fits that, but not quite. Sorry for all the questions, it just really makes me think. It's a neat idea that I'd love to see be explored a bit more.

By the way, my favorite here is the 90s Rave variant.

Well there can be many musical fashion genres per era so I wouldn't worry too much about that part! For the hair metal primarina, I was totally thinking of KISS so that's definitely the 70s and into the 80s! I kind of think of regular Primarina as lowkey 90s/00s pop but it could be opera diva too? It wouldn't take much to nudge it that way!

Yeah, I think Opera Diva was what they were going for. After all, Primarina uses the term "Prima Donna" as part of the name. And that is an opera term. Most people might not know that since it is so much more often used as an insult rather than in the proper, non-figurative context like it is in Primarina's case.

That being said, there is also the fact that Opera never really had a period of extreme popularity like the other genres. At least, it didn't in North America anyway. But what would I know? I'm not much of a music enthusiast to begin with. It's still fun to speculate and discuss this stuff though.

I can definitely see Primarina singing opera over a synth. xD That's the vibe I get!
I don't think Opera has ever been mainstream popular in the last...50 to 100 years...? But I suppose it's something of an evergreen for some communities too. ^^

This might just be cliches and stereotypes that lead me to believe this, but isn't Opera much more popular in Europe than anywhere else and has always had at least decent popularity in certain countries? I could easily be wrong or misinformed, but as far as I know, most if not all European countries that are well-known for their high-class or sophisticated reputation likely consider Opera to still be a decently popular genre of music. France, England, and for some reason Belgium, all come to mind immediately for me when thinking about what countries might have a thriving Opera appreciation.

But there are always exceptions. Just look at Jackie Evancho! I'd also advise looking up Lindsey Sterling since she can make a violin become an instrument of awesome!
