Description
The crumbled house of the executioner lies a little off the ghost village Galmbach in German Odenwald. The village was deserted in 1836 after "the little ice age without summer" caused mis-harvesting. This miserable situation was provoked by an outbreak of the Krakatoa.This photo is my contribution to the "Lucky Star Badge"- Contest of - group.

Hmm... this is a very nice picture. The colors are very nice and the feeling from this picture is very strong. Even though time may pass some things don't always disappear, because history has already happened and will always leave its marks on the Earth. I think this is a great picture. If you look at it hard enough you can almost see a glimpse of the past. Only one thing I might add, the colors probably should have been adjusted a little more to add a more sensible feeling to the background, the colors are a little dull, the colors are good, but I don't think it has enough color to it. I'm saying this is a great picture all in all, but I think if the quality was a little better and it had just a little more color to it, then this picture would be much better. Thanks for your comment. I am still amateur in photography and do not know exactly all the adjustments you can do with a modern pixel cam. And the picture was taken in autumn. It was a nice autumn day with sun but already autumn and thus a little dull and misty light.

The more and more you keep practicing the more you will improve and get better, then understand everything. You could always try adjusting your photos in Photoshop to add lighting and extra effects, if you ever wanted to. Hmm... alright. Well as I said your picture is great. That autumn weather must have been the reason for it being a tad bit too dull then.

I really like this photograph. The setting for the ruin is just perfect and I love how the colours of the foreground and background come together to give a slightly ominous feel. Nice work

Thanks for liking it. And I am really proud of it. But if you believe it or not: When I was there I felt something that attired me and kept me there. And when standing there, the "ill" feeling came over me. I wanted to leave as I have felt there happened something awkward - a dark feeling, a gloomy feeling. It cost some effort of my will to leave that place.

woohoo der Ort ist heftig.
Der strahlt so eine Atmosphäre au, das man glatt Gänsehaut bekommt. Ich war vor ein paar Jahren mal dort gewesen, als wir noch regelmässig in den Odenwald fuhren.
Sehr schön eingefangen, auch von den Lichtverhältnissen. ^^

Das habe ich auch so gefühlt, als ich dort war. Es war irgendwie etwas Unerfreuliches, und ich wollte mich dort nicht länger aufhalten. Aber das Dorf selbst ist schön gelegen am Waldrand mit einem Bach.
Ich hatte schon gedacht, daß es ein wenig zu dunkel werden würde, weil es schon die Abendsonne war, aber ich war angenehm überrascht, daß ich noch so gut die Konturen und Kontraste herausholen konnte.
Das Melden und Erscheinen ist doch keine Pflicht hier. Ich weiß, daß du dich melden würdest, wenn du könntest. Wenn ich dir in deinem Chaos irgendwie behilflich sein kann, dann lasse es mich wissen.

*nick* es ist teils wirklich bedrückend an diesem Ort und irgendwas scheint noch immer da zu sein, scheint die Mauern zu umgeben und hat was gegen "Eindrinlinge".. zumindest kommt es mir immer so vor.
Das Dörfchen an sich ist malerisch, die ganze Gegend dort.
Oh ja, die Kontraste und das Licht spiegeln im runde genau jene Stimmung wieder die einen an dem Ort überkommt. Sehr interessant.
Das ist wahr, aber einige nehmen es einem übel, wenn man nicht immer und sofort antwortet...
