^_^ This is amazing! I love the pose and the expression, and I, having a good number of Froud's books can also assure that I've never seen anything like this before. It doesn't even particularly look like his style. Like someone else said, it looks very happy and whimsical.
Anyway, great job! ^_^

I love this little guy! I love how the colours are a bit muted. Its got an Arthur Spiderwick feel to it, but totally original.

Annie, I have that book and I certainly didn't see anything like that in there. Your work is your own. I think yours is more whimsical than Frouds. Anyway, super beautiful work.

What a uniquely different and whimsically beautiful creature. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before and I have loved fae and faery creatures in art for decades now. Totally gorgeous and definitely a fave!

i really like the placement of the twig his back is against.. did you do that on purpose? the two oak leaves coming off the twig look like they could be his wings

i recognise it from the book of fairies... brian froud? or is it the other guy who draws them? i'm not sure...
either way.. you are either the illistrator for that series of books or this is outright plagerized as your own.
not to be harsh but the pic is an exact replica./ a plagurized piece.
one who knows the work cannot help but comment.

I am sorry, but I can assure you that this piece was not copied. I have used no references when I sketched or colored it. You can check Brian Froud's book. Look at every single pages if you want. You will not find this piece anywhere. Nor the pose, nor the colors. This piece is an original that came out of my very own mind.
Please do not say harsh things like this when you have no proof at all of what you are stating. And I can assure you 100% that your acusations are wrong and unjustified.

this piece of art can be found in their Faeries: Original 1979 Edition
i am not saying this to be harsh. but the likeness is exact, as i had said.
your artwork is truly wonderful but this one piece can be found in the above said publication.

I would really like to see what page you are refering too. Please scan it for me. I do not know what you are talking about at all. I showed this image to countless Froud fans and everyone was as confused as I was. Heck, I even got a Froundian Award from the official site of Briand Froud for my work. If I had really copied or scammed them, I think they would have told me before you did. I'd really like to see what you are talking about. I keep looking at all my Froud books and I can't find the image you are talking about.

Aww, I love the quirky little smile they've got. ^_^ Looks like someone who'd be hanging out in my husband's bonsai, checking water levels and new growth; the kind of fae that would right a tree who had gotten knocked over in a strong wind. ^_^ Just adorable!

TailorMaid, I certainly hope you have a specific title with which to back that up with. This is an artist of integrity and decency, and I should hate to think that you or anyone else would attempt to slander another fellow artist out of misinformation or unprofessionalism. That is a very serious claim to make; please back it up with specific facts. Thank you.

Seriously. I think we just have a rather rotten little troll. Ignore her. She can't even write correctly.

How original that you chose to do the color scheme around un-ripe acorns instead of just brown ones. Your skill with the inks is very nice. It is refreshing to see pieces that are done by hand instead of digiatally. (nothing against digital, but there is something charming about the hand-make pieces that I don't think can truly be replicated on a computer.) Nice work!

I totally agree about traditionnal medias. I personnally tend to put much more time and heart into them especially because you just can't go back on what you do, unlike with CG. So I guess it makes them a little special.
Thank you very much for the nice comments!

I'm curious as to where the idea to make it an acorn faery came from. Did they just not mind what kind of faery it was and you spontaneously chose acorns? I like it... I've actually never seen an acorn faery, and it makes it that much better to know it's unique -and- beautiful.
