Oh, man it was great. I went with my orchestra so we got to perform a few times, too. I'm sure it would have helped me if I actually spoke German, but some people spoke English so I didn't suffer too much. xD
If you go, make sure you bring a camera. Take a million pictures.

I play cello!
One of my friends knew a little German, but not enough to talk comfortably to the natives. But I guess the only thing you really need to know is "Do you speak English?"
