Kaori is usually very outgoing when it comes to meeting new people. She greets everyone with a sweet personality, and will try to earn respect/friendliness by either showering them in gifts and compliments or hanging out with them often. She wants to put the impression on people that she's bubbly 24/7, but it's actually an act. For the most part anyway- the only reason why she acts like that is so that others (who are generally kind or soft-hearted) will like her and find it harder to hate her. Kaori rarely shows her 'true' side, and will only with people who are closer to her. With those who are close to her, she might be seen as narcissistic. Reason being why is because she actually doesn't have a very high self-esteem in terms of her fake (two-faced) personality, so she tries to convince herself that she's 'the best' and 'perfect'; especially with her looks. Kaori is very impatient and can quickly become bitter when she doesn't get what she wants. She becomes a drama queen very frequently when it happens, and WILL make sure that you regret your last words with her if the situation has reached its last straw. Disregarding her rotten character, Kaori is naturally courageous and will speak her mind when she feels as if she should, even though it might not be in the most 'honest' way. She is very observant, and for most of the time does not act on an impulse.
* h i s t o r y   Through elementary school and junior high, Kaori attended a lot of different schools. She grew up as an only child with her father in a big house. He was rather wealthy and loved her, so she had many privileges and was spoiled to the bone. He also cared a lot for money- it was almost like it revolved around his entire life sometimes. Never once did he give her a lesson on stinginess or greed since he was too invested in his own things. Her mother divorced from her father while she was still in her last year of elementary school, so she never really had that many experiences with her. She was very kind and good motherly influence, and she stood up for what was right or wrong. Although her job wasn't really as stable as her husband's, so it caused them to argue a lot. Kaori's father drank very much when he had the chance to, and so their quarrels always ended up with her mother getting becoming hurt emotionally or physically, but most of the time being both. It happened for a really long time and eventually her mother needed to take her leave. She wanted to take her daughter with her but knew that her husband was more financially stable- Kaori was aware of their dispute, but never dwelled on the thought while she was young.
  About a month after their divorce, her father became very morose. It was hard for him to face his own daughter about the problem, and never told her about it even if she asked. If anything, he'd just say that " she left ". He believed that it was for his daughters own good (and innocence), even though during the night time on weekends or fridays he brought home different women to have his 'shenanigans' with. which she eventually found out about. In the mornings she would often hear the women talking to her father (usually 'flirting' back and forth) about how they enjoyed their stay with him and learned about what kind of person he was through eavesdropping. When he was around the women, he always seemed to be happy compared as to when he was alone with Kaori. It made her really upset since she didn't get the kind of attention that she had previously before, but she didn't want it from him anymore anyway. She needed that attention though, and the only other place for her to do that would be at school.
  Wanting people's attention led to her trying to change her personality in junior high. Kaori wanted to be someone popular and confident, yet kind at the same time; someone that everyone would like. It was hard for her to be both though. She was already somewhat confident, though not so kind. She believed that she was truly able to convince everyone to like her, but here and there her real personality would slip out, causing the older popular girls to try and mock her for it. Of course, it made her bitter, and she retorted back at them everytime. It only worsened her reputation amongst the school, having been know as a 'poser' or 'fake'. The thing was that she knew that it was true, so along with her reputation, her self-esteem went down. She begged her father to let her transfer to another school, and was able to the transfer in her second year of junior high. Then she really began to develop her appearance in terms of personality. She liked the kind of reactions she had been getting when she acted all sweet and nice. When it came to her first year of high school she began to start dating others, but due to her father's influence, she only played around with them to use them for their money or 'status'. Kaori has been like this ever since, and still continues to at Ikehara High.
