Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.

One of the things from which I draw inspiration for the worldbuilding are the lesser know facts and trivia withing most mythologies. In this case, the legend says that there is only ONE phoenix, in contrast to modern depictions in which its a species of creatures. Also, in Russian fairytales there is mention of a firebird but is not exactly the phoenix from persian and greek lore.

Using this, I choose to have the phoenix be an entirely new creature but keel the same themes of resurection.

The Great Phoenix is the 'Aslan' figure in The Seelie Saga. When designing Him, I choose creatures I felt best fit God's character

WOLF'S HEAD: Though the Bible often uses animals as metaphores and examples to give a lesson, the early church's idea that all wolves are of the devil is more of an extremist misconception. Remember, the Bible uses the characteristics of a lion to describe both Jesus and Satan. Wolves themselves are very loyal and fiercely protective fathers. I choose the wolf for the head because God is the ultimate Papa Wolf.

LION'S MANE: Like I said before, lions have been used to describe Jesus, The Lion of Juda. The lion is known as king of beasts after all, and Jesus is The King. Also, call it a nod to Aslan.

STAG ANTLERS: This was inspired by the legend of the white stage from brittish folklore. Originally rooted in pagan beliefs, later christian rewrite had a white stag appear before a knight with a cross glowing between its antlers. And antlers somewhat resemble a crown.

EAGLE CLAWS: Similar to the lion, the eagle is known as king of the skies and a symbol of freedom. Acceptinf Jesus as savior leads to spiritual freedom.

HORSE'S TORSO: Horsed are often associated with strenght, speed, resilience but also humility. For all of their strenght, horses are also sensetive and empathetic creatures despite their great strenght.
