Hi I'm with project comment and will be critiquing for you today. I love this, though I'm not quite sure what they are, their still cute. They kinda look like sonic the hedgehog characters. First I'm gonna start with the pointers so I can save the good stuff for last. First off, the stance the bigger one is in looks wrong, the legs should, in my opinion, be closer together, they way they are now, the character would be facing you a little more. Also, this really is a opinion more then a real critic, I would clarify what gender the bigger one is. My first thought was that it was the little one's mom, but then after a closer I thought it could be a male, so I don't know. I love how the pic alone tells a story. From first glance, you begin to make a story for it. I love pics that get my imagination working! Good job. Also the clothes match so well. They look like something you would wear if you know it's cold out side but you would still get cold in. Very good with this pic

Eyyyy, I'm from and I'm here to give you some constructive criticism on your art!
I can see where the light is coming from, which is good; there should be one clear light source in a drawing. But I feel like you should use more lighting on the right side of the characters. I'm not sure if you were going for a very small amount of light, but if you were, then I suggest that you make the lighting softer and more subtle. However, if you were going for a normal amount of light, then like I said, you should add more lighting to the area that is being lit up.
I also wanted to tell you that the lines look a bit sloppy, and that they seem to have blended in with the coloring while you were shading. If you're using the brush tool, then you should do several different layers to prevent this from happening. And one more thing, the face of the smaller character seems a bit off. The way you shaded it makes it look like her nose is too far to the right, so next time, you may want to use a little less shading on the face.

Fundamentally, I enjoy this overall, it's always nice to see a piece with some emotion in it, and character interaction.

From a critical point of view, it looks like it could use a little sharpening up. For example, darker lines on the hands where the shadows are or more definition on both of their tails.  This sort of style makes it hard to do that kind of thing but I think it always makes a difference. Also you could draw more attention to the emotion of the work by making the faces more of a focus, you could do this with lighting. Alternatively you could make the face lines darker and more defined than other parts.
Lastly I can see the light source looks almost as though its coming from multiple directions, that is, the front is lit, and there is light coming from both sides. It's pretty minor but it makes it harder to actually focus on a focal point because the lighting isn't going toward a focal point. It looks like you were going from a lighting that is to the right, up and behind them right? Well I have heard drawing in a light source (arrows, lines, whatever helps) is a good way to maintain good lighting. 
Overall a nice piece , and cute well balanced characters. Good job.

For the first time painting, this is very well done. The tone and overall message this picture speaks to me is handled very nicely. I personally believe there could've been a background to fit this painting more properly instead of a plain gray background, but if you don't want to, it's alright-- it's basically my opinion and you can do whatever fits your style.

Keep painting-- even if you don't like the results, I believe everyone else will say otherwise because this is an impressive painting and people would love to see more paintings from you.

Found this on project comment and I just wanted to leave my thoughts.
Personally for a first attempt that's godamn impressive.
It shows some impressive natural talent.
The only real thing I can critique with an honest heart is the shading.
Other than that it's damn impressive. I love the cartoony style mixed with the paint.
It gives it an almost elegant and animated feel to it.
And that's always a good thing.
